Widget Parcels is a bilingual dashboard bringing together parcel tracking, news, weather and time-zone information. Tracking references and preferences are stored in the browser. A 3D map visualizes routes for context only; it does not provide real-time GPS locations.

Project details

Objective

The goal was to bring everyday delivery information together in one dashboard: tracking, news, weather and time-zone references, with a bilingual interface that works across devices.

Technologies used

Widget Parcels is a static HTML, CSS and JavaScript web app deployed on Cloudflare Pages and installable as a PWA. It combines the Parcel App widget and Parcels v4 API for tracking, MapLibre GL JS with OpenFreeMap tiles for the globe, and weather and news services. Tracking references and preferences stay in the browser's local storage; API secrets are managed in the deployment environment and are not included in this portfolio.

Challenges and solutions

The dashboard brings together external services with different data and availability. The interface keeps them in distinct modules and stores tracking references on the user's device. The map shows indicative routes between known points; it should not be interpreted as GPS location or a precise estimate of a parcel's progress.
