Human Body bilingual portal introducing interactive science modules about the human body

Human Body

Human Body is a bilingual collection of playful, science-based experiences for exploring the systems that keep us alive. Its four modules cover telomeres and cellular ageing, the cardiac cycle and blood circulation, neurons and synapses, and the innate and adaptive immune response. Interactive diagrams and simplified models make complex mechanisms easier to explore.

Project details

Objective

The objective was to bring several standalone biology learning experiences together in a clear bilingual portal, so visitors can choose a subject and explore its interactive models at their own pace.

Technologies used

The collection combines a responsive HTML, CSS and JavaScript portal with four independent modules. TelomereClock is built with React and Vite; Heartbeat Lab, Neuro Map and Immune Arena are static experiences using HTML, CSS and JavaScript modules. The portal, TelomereClock and Heartbeat Lab are published on separate Cloudflare Pages projects; Neuro Map and Immune Arena are served from paths on the portal.

Challenges and solutions

Each module has its own subject, interface and teaching model, so the portal presents them as distinct experiences while keeping a shared visual identity and French-English access. Biological diagrams and simulations intentionally simplify real processes for learning: they are not clinical measurements, individual predictions, diagnoses or treatment recommendations.
